The Evotech Scientific Enlarged Brain Stem Anatomy Model is designed as a 2-part sagittally sectioned model to help allow students of neuroscience the up-close study of one of the least understood parts of the human brain. The brain stem with its primary importance of maintaining basic vital functions in the central nervous system is the target in many neurodegenerative diseases. Since the functional changes that accompany many of these diseases are poorly understood, hands on study of the anatomy of the brain stem is a prerequisite for developing therapeutic strategies for treatments.

This 2.5x life-size hand painted model shows a number of elements in the brain stem including the midbrain, pons, diencephalon and medulla, as well as additional intricate structural details on the cranial nerves, arteries, veins, dura mater, optic thalamus and more.
